In this new blog, we are celebrating a very special anniversary. 40 years with the family business NOVAPOR is not only a reason to celebrate, but also a reason to honour this very special achievement. In the company founded by his grandfather Hans Lau in 1958, he was the first of the third generation to take responsibility for positively influencing the development of NOVAPOR.
The beginnings of an impressive career
After completing his training as a businessman on 06.06.1984, Jörg decided to use his knowledge to support and advance the family business, which at the time had just a handful of employees. It was a time when issues such as a stagnating economy and the number of unemployed dominated the news. Even at this time, Jörg had a vision that something very special could be created here through strong leadership and smart decisions.
In the first few years, in addition to commercial work, the day was mainly characterized by work such as driving trucks, sales and, above all, helping out in production. An experience that has been invaluable to Jörg in his development within the company to this day.

After 6 years, his brother Andreas joined the company to support him in his task and to continue to steer the company through the difficult market situation, to establish the name NOVAPOR in the market and to create the basis for future growth. In 1995, both of them took over the management of the company together.
Growth despite adversity
When Jörg began his journey at Novapor in 1984, the company was still located in Norderstedt in the Garstedt district. The production hall was a modest 900m² and the team consisted of just five employees. Despite these limited resources, Jörg's commercial skills managed to put the company on a growth path. With a clear vision and innovative ideas, he created the basis for the company's steady growth and success.

Two relocations and numerous developments
Under Jörg's commercial leadership, NOVAPOR underwent two significant moves in 2000 and 2022. These were not only physical changes, but also symbolized the progress and development of the company. Each move brought new opportunities and challenges, but Jörg mastered them with flying colors. He fostered a culture of innovation and continuous learning that enabled the company to adapt to changing market conditions and remain successful.

The company's success today
Today, after decades of continuous growth, NOVAPOR is based in Kaltenkirchen after a second relocation and has developed into a thriving company with over 70 employees on over 8000m². Novapor is one of the leading companies for the development and production of packaging solutions and customized foam pads. This success is not only a testament to Jörg's outstanding leadership, but also to his commitment to preserving the values and traditions of the family business while pursuing future-oriented strategies. Today he runs the family business together with his brother Andreas, his nephew Julian and an incredible team of employees.
